Improvement of Wind-Induced Responses of Twin Towers Using Modal Substructure Method with Link Bridges

چکیده

A new wind-resistant design optimization method for twin towers by utilizing link bridges, named as the Modal Substructure (MSS) method, is proposed. The MSS combines benefits of engineering approaches and theoretical analysis methods to achieve efficient wind-induced vibration control tailored specific tower projects. involves three main steps: (1) establishing objectives based on response characteristics towers, (2) determining strategies analyzing modal acceleration (3) performing parameter bridge, including assessing damping ratio, mass frequency ratio bridge. By applying optimal configurations bridge can be identified, leading effective reduction effects. responses exhibit distinct types: predominance out-of-phase response, in-phase equal importance responses. Each type necessitates implementation strategies. We propose a two-section approach: upper section functions tuned damper effectively while lower designed “stiffness + component” reduce response.
